MEMBERSHIP JOYS

United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

LAKESIDE UMW 2017 MISSION GIVING WAS $7,060 TO THE FOLLOWING:

Adopt-A- Family, Church Women United (Least Coin), CROS Ministries (Christian’s Reaching Out to Society), FL Conference (Bishop’s Request), FL Conference (UMW Legacy Fund), FL United Methodist Children’s Home, Grandma’s Place, Gratitude House, Lakeside UMC (Blanket Sunday), Lakeside UMC (Vacation Bible School), Lakeside UMC (Food Pantry), Lakeside UMC (Matthew Meals), McCurdy School, Red Bird Mission, Salvation Army (Lake Worth), Servants of the Great I Am, UMCOR (FL), UMW District Mission Giving, UMW District Call-to-Prayer & Self-Denial, UMW World Thank Offering.

JOIN UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

Any woman who commits herself to the purpose of United Methodist Women and to engage in mission, study, personal growth and social action can join. You don’t have to be a United Methodist or meet an age requirement to be a member.

It means joining a global community of women – nearly 800,000 strong – who are committed to the same purpose and have a passion to change the world around them.

It’s easy to become a member of United Methodist Women, just talk to someone you know who is already a member of the organization. You can join a small group meeting monthly/weekly, morning or evening (Susanna Wesley or Bookworms) OR you can be a member-at-large. You can participate in the annual Holiday Bazaar and the annual Rummage Sale. You can attend any UMW activities, including the Spring Banquet, Fall Breakfast and District Meetings.

Lakeside has a very active UMW Unit that has been recognized by the Florida Conference United Methodist Women for being a Mission Today and Five Star Unit, plus completing Mission Studies.
